Liger Trailer Launch: Vijay Deverakonda reveals his mom was scared for him filming with Mike Tyson- “She did lots of pujas”

 At the trailer launch of the Hindi version of Liger on Thursday, actor Vijay Deverakonda revealed that while he was thrilled to shoot with the American former professional boxer Mike Tyson, his mother was equally nervous and worried for him shooting with a heavyweight like Tyson.

The Arjun Reddy actor said, “She did lots of pujas and put vibhuti (sacred ash) and kumkum (turmeric powder) on me before I left for the USA. I’m fine now and her pujas did really work (laughs).”

Charmme Kaur, one of the producers of Liger, added, “She kept telling him, ‘It’s Mike Tyson! Be careful.’ She calls him Chinnu. She called me up millions of times and told me to take care of her Chinnu. Once they started shooting, I sent her videos of how they were chilling together and laughing as if they are childhood friends.”

Vijay's Liger trailer was unveiled on Thursday in Hyderabad and Mumbai amid much fanfare. Starring the young man as a professional MMA fighter, the film stars Ramya Krishnan and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles with Mike Tyson's special appearance. The trailer has it all from action to romance to drama with a heart-thumping musical score and impeccable dialogue delivery by Vijay as it seems all set to be the trailer of the year.
